Ya Mon!

-Jamaican Sunset-
7:45pm - 15 minutes after the sun had set......there were other people that were there 15 minutes before hand and were starting to leave right after the sun had set. I was able to stop a couple of them and tell them to wait just a couple more minutes if they wanted to see the colors explode. And sure enough it did! One Asian man grabbed my arm and made show him how to use his camera. Then my beautiful wife and I left for a delicious honeymoon dinner.

Natural Color

The most beautiful natural colors are in the morning just before sunrise. Clouds are a good thing because they produce some extremely vivid colors when the sunlight hits them at this angle. This was taken before I left for work in the morning. I had my camera on me and as Carrie and I walked outside to go to work I said, "Honey, I think I am going to be a little late for work today"... It's too bad that most people are asleep during the most colorful part of the day. There is no artificial color in the picture. The only thing I did was slightly bump up the contrast afterwards to make it look like it should have, because I didn't have my camera set on the right setting at the time. Which I found out later :(. This was taken with a Nikon D200, 80mm, 1/40 sec, F/5.6, at -2/3 Step.

Unkown God

All of the Bible is truth, but the Bible is not all truth.

It is not exhaustive truth.

For example 2+2=4. That is true.

That is not in the Bible. It is however still true.

We can also apply this to other religions. Although they are not the Total truth they may still have truth laced in their theology even though they fall short of ultimate truth. We need to find these snippets of truth, accept it as truth and use it. I think this is a powerful way to share the gospel. To relate to someone that you thought you didn't have anything in common with.

Take Paul's example in Acts 17. He is at a place in Athens in the midst of great philosophers. He says, "for as I was passing through considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:" HE Claims that this 'unknown god' is actually Jesus. He knows nothing of what they believe of this God but still make the claim. Now that is bold. That is studying, finding the little truth that a person has about the True God, and using that to relate the gospel to them. Strategery. Simply amazing. He also later quotes their own poets, "For we are also His offspring." Saying that if we are His offspring then the Divine Nature is not something made with human hands, shaped by art and man's devising.

I used to think that Christianity is Totally True and that all other religions are Totally False, ever single part of them. I don't believe that anymore. Christianity is Totally True, but that doesn't mean that there isn't some truth found in other religions as little as it may be.

Any thoughts?
