Tommy! This is Jenny again. I love it--Okay so, here's another one. How much of it is the development of the picture vs. the camera. Actually this is three fold..do you ever adjust the pic on your computer after you take the pic? Two, do you do your own developing? AND, what percentage of the quality of the pic is due to the lens?

Oh and something else (I'm real sorry)--when you're taking these shots..are they just point and click and its the camera that makes the colors/shadows come out so cool or do you have to do a lot of adjusting with each shot?? (Obviously the water ones will be different).

Thanks! Again, keep 'em coming!

Alright lets try to answer these questions here.....this might be a little long...

1. Most cameras these days have incredible auto features on them that automatically adjust the exposure, white balance, shutter speed, aperature...and ISO speed. So you can do almost everything auto. BUT for me, alot of taking a picture is 'seeing' it first in your head..understanding what you want it too look like and adjusting your camera to make it look the way you want...for instance the picture of smooth water in the river. In my mind I knew thats what I wanted. I went to that specific spot and waited for that specific light....and knew how to set my camera to get the look I wanted....make sense?

2. Sometimes I adjust my pictures after the fact. Sometimes I expose my pitures so that I don't loose the shadows or highlights and then adjust them later to give more or less light. Also sometimes I take a picture knowing that I will edit it later to make it look the way I want it too even thought it doesn't come out of my camera that way. All of the B&W pics you see are taken in color and then conterted to B&W...it gives you more control with editing....this is where art comes in...

3. Developing- The only 'developing' i do is with editing programs like Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. But I do try and keep the picture as original as possible unless I want something wild and artistic. I don't do my own printing though. The great thing about a digital file is that it will/should look the same wherever you print it out...unlike actual film which can be manipulated to look great or bad depending on where you go.

4. Quality of the pic- I think a lot of it has to do with the lens...and what setting you put your camera on...also selecting the right aperature will give you greater 'sharpness' depending on the lense. Check out www.kenrockwell.com . he has great info...just look under technical on the home page.

I hope this helps....keep the questions coming. I love answering them :)
